Trip Type: Orienteering Events
The sport of competitive topography (orienteering) is very popular in Northern Europe and combines good physical condition with mental alertness. It includes navigating on terrain of different morphology and difficulty and finding control points. It is an individual sport, the winner of which is the one who finds the points in the shortest possible time. The athlete has to solve many orientation problems while at the same time having to maintain a fast running pace in order to finish the race in the shortest possible time. He can walk, run or enjoy the route and nature, making it a sport suitable for all ages and interests.
2. Gialos beach, Koumbara beach, Lighthouse, Gialos beach
During this hike the visitor will walk from the port of Ios, to the stone made lighthouse of the island. It is a short challenging route, since it includes a slight inclination uphill, but will reward the visitor with a wonderful view of the island.
3. The churches at Chora
Join us on a hike through the alleys and churches of Chora and learn about its well-hidden secrets, customs and traditions.
4. Chora, Skarkos archaeological site, Hellinica, Hagia Triada, Hagios Prokopis, Hagios Spyridon, Chora
This route is ideal for lovers on nature. We will start from Chora of Ios and after passing by the prehistoric settlement of Skarkos we will move in a circular direction observing the nature and admiring the landscape. We will get to know the customs and traditions of the place and learn old stories from the locals.
5. Chora, Odysseus Elytis theatre, Diaseli traditional Cheesery for cheese tasting
A challenging route, that will reward the guest with the amazing landscape and the visit to the dairy. We will start from Chora and move towards the Odysseas Elytis Theatre, where we will admire Mylopotas beach. We will move in a circular path and we will meet old houses and churches, witnesses of another era. We will stop for a tasting at the traditional Diaseli Cheese Factory and after enjoying fresh cheese and wine, we will return to Chora by path, admiring Mylopotas.
A. Chora, prehistoric settlement of Skarkos, Homer’s tomb, Chora
Starting from Chora we will visit the prehistoric settlement of Skarkos, where we will talk about the history and traditions of the island. We will leave our bicycles and walk for a few meters to admire the traditional path. Then we will take our bikes and cycle towards Homer’s tomb where, according to tradition, the great poet was buried. We will return to Chora from the area of Pano Kampos admiring the landscape.
B. Chora, prehistoric settlement of Skarkos, Diaseli Cheesery
Starting from Chora we will visit the archaeological site of Skarkos where we will talk about the history and traditions of the island. We will leave our bicycles and walk for a few meters to admire the traditional path. Then we will take our bikes and cycle to Diaseli traditional Cheesery for cheese tasting. We will return to Chora from the area of Pano Kampos admiring the landscape.

Orienteering Events
Orienteering events are carried out on demand for groups of 10-20 people, at Mylopotas beach. We provide you with special maps and compasses and after the initial briefing, the contestants start looking for points.
