Άγιος Ιωάννης, περιοχή Πύργος
Η εκκλησία αυτή είναι κτισμένη στο ψηλότερο σημείο του βουνού. Ήταν βυζαντινός ναός, πιθανότατα του 16ου αιώνα, κτισμένος στα ερείπια του αρχαίου ναού του Απόλλωνα.
Παλιά ήταν μοναστήρι που άνηκε στη μονή Χοζοβιώτισσα. Κοντά στο μοναστήρι υπήρχαν τρεις βρύσες από τις οποίες οι μοναχοί πότιζαν τα χωράφια τους. Η μία ονομάζονταν “κρύα” βρύση για το πολύ κρύο νερό. Η άλλη “βασιλική” για το καθαρό νερό.

This church is built on the highest point of the mountain. It was a Byzantine temple, probably of the 16th century, built on the ruins of the ancient temple of Apollo.
It used to be a monastery that belonged to the monastery of Hozoviotissa. Near the monastery there were three fountains from which the monks watered their fields. One was called the “cold” fountain for very cold water. The other “basilica” for clean water.
